Armour fixer It works much like the Weapon conditioner, except for the armour: whenever your equipped armour takes damage, it will be fully repaired. Infinite health that infinite health type of thing. DeadEye: no more bullet spread, your weapon will fire exactly where it points.

This will repair your equipped weapon to full condition whenever you fire it, so it'll never break. Weapon conditioner: Normally, your weapon takes some amount of damage whenever it is fired. If I remember correctly, it will refill the clip, too. Infinite ammo: No ammo is removed from the chamber (so no need to reload, either). The script is more or less configurable, here's what it contains: The script included in the table is an AOB script, so it may (or may not) work with other versions. I doubt the latter brings any changes as the binaries were left untouched, but I mentioned it just in case. I always thought of CoP at the polished, console-ified version of the series, with the rough edges knocked off, but I really liked those rough edges. It's for the GOG.com release (main menu says 1.0.0.6), with Complete 2009 v1.44 added. Once modded up and bug patched, both games still hold their own today. There was a whole 'pick a faction and conquer the map' game which was mildly diverting but hardly necessary, and there were two of the finest maps in any of the games The great swamp (which is hands down the most atmospheric and creepy level in the whole series) and the western end of the Red Forest (which actually had me shooting at shadows). It reused many of the levels, so abandoned buildings you barely glanced at in SoC were revealed to be thriving communities at one point. It's main thing was that it was SoC set years earlier and you got to see the changes that had happened in the zone. Also, the dungeons are better, there are more of them and they're more challenging.Ĭlear Sky is a good game too. I personally prefer it to the sprawling open world levels of CoP. The advantages are that each area is more distinct and has a greater focus on choke points. The game is more channelled than CoP, originally GSC wanted it to be a big open world map, but technical limitations forced them to split it into the various maps. While it isn't Demon Souls hard, it doesn't pander to your FPS lone hero aesthetic which was somewhat refreshing when it came out. If you say no, the NPC says 'Look at this asshole. The whole first mission sums up the stalker games when you are offered help taking on the bandits.
The appeal of Shadow of Chernobyl is that it was the first and it introduced the stalker mood. Im past the 100 Rads Bar and on the way to the X18 lab on the "Dark Valley" for finding more "documents" (another generic and un-logical fecth quest) and Im already making a strenght to keep going only to trying to see what is this game has thats truly unique and better than Miserable Pripyat. Yet, I keep hearing Chernobyl is so good or even better than Pripyat from a lot of people. Theres isnt one sole aspect that its better than Prypiat. The game feels cruder and simply worst than Miserable Pripyat in all aspects - immersion/atmosphere, art/aesthetics, exploration mechanics, combat mechanics, artifact hunting mechanics, sandbox/"open-endendness", AI, NPCs, art/aesthetics, plots/quests, etc.

I hunt for the best mods (AMK, Complete and LURK, it seems) try some of them in different installs, pick the one I found more comfortable with and. Then, amazed and bewildered by that experience, I feel compelled to play the other games from the series, specially the original one, which gets even more praise than Pripyat in some circles. Its one of the most immersive and atmospheric experiences Ive had in a videogame, up there with System Shock, Thief and Deus Ex for me. So I go ahead and try Call of Pripyat with Misery mod.

After ignoring the Stalker series for a long time, I decided to give it a chance.Ģ.
